DOHA: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held telephonic conversation with the President of Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
H H the Amir and the President of Turkey exchanged greetings on the advent of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The President invited H H the Amir to attend the Islamic summit scheduled for tomorrow in Istanbul, to discuss the latest developments in Palestine amidst the violent massacres carried out by the Israeli forces against the defenceless Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. H H the Amir accepted the invitation.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet condemned the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza strip. Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet’s weekly meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
After the meeting, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Mohannadi said that the Cabinet condemned the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza Strip on Monday, which left dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded during their peaceful participation in commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nakba of Palestine, and their refusal to the relocation of the US embassy to occupied Jerusalem in disregard of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
Following with deep concern the serious developments which obstruct any serious efforts to revive the peace process on the basis of the Arab Peace Initiative, the Cabinet renewed its call upon the Security Council to intervene urgently and decisively to protect the Palestinian people from the Israeli aggression and to recognize their legitimate national rights, foremost of which is the right to establish their independent State in accordance with the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
The extraordinary session of the Arab League at the level of Permanent Representatives began yesterday at the headquarters of the Arab League to discuss the illegal decision taken by the US to transfer its embassy to Al Quds. The meeting was held at the request of Palestine. The State of Qatar is participating in the meeting with a delegation headed by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam Al Buainain. The meeting of the permanent representatives aims to prepare for the extraordinary meeting of the Arab foreign ministers scheduled for Thursday to confront the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and to discuss ways to deal with the American administration’s decision on Al Quds.
The Arab League announced the preparation of an Arab plan of action to deal with the American decision to recognize Al Quds as the capital of Israel and to move its embassy to their.
This came during a press conference held yesterday, at the conclusion of an extraordinary Arab League session at the permanent representatives level.
