CAIRO, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- The Arab League condemned in the strongest terms the heinous attack against security personnel in Wahat area in Giza, which led to the death of several Egyptian policemen and the injury of others, said a statement Saturday.
The attack reflected the importance of countering terrorism and ending all acts against Egyptian military and police personnel, a statement by the League's Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit indicated.
He added that it was important for all Egyptians to stand against the menace of terrorism to bring peace and security to the land. Yesterday an Egyptian security force was in pursuit of wanted elements hiding in Wahat area in Giza.
According to initial reports, when the force arrived at the criminals' hideout, gunmen appeared began to pepper the force with bullets, leading to the death of three police officers and the injury of eight others. (end) mfm.gta
