Arab League chief extols Oman's support

MUSCAT, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab League's Secretary General Ahmad Abul-Gheit heaped praise on Oman Sunday for the country's contributions to collective Arab work.
According to Oman News Agency (ONA), in a meeting with Chairman of Oman's Shura Council Khaled Al-Malawi, the visiting Arab League Secretary General hailed recent development in the Gulf nation.
Moreover, the Omani official spoke of his country's eagerness to help align the positions of Arab nations, noting that the Arab League is very instrumental in enhancing Arab ties.
He also added that extra efforts are required at this juncture to cope with economic challenges.
Abul-Gheit also met with Deputy Chairman of the Omani State Council Dr. Al Khatab bin Ghalib Al-Hinai. (end) ahr.nam
